How Ticketed Authors Work
Wristband Information
The table to collect ticketed authors' wristbands will be next to the registration table in the hotel lobby. Ticketed authors are NOT an additional cost. The wristbands are simply required for some authors to help manage line control inside the ballroom.
Please collect wristbands for the specific authors you wish to see after you have registered. You can only grab wristbands for yourself, not for others. ie. You cannot grab three wristbands for a single author's line – one for yourself and two for your friends. Everyone needs to grab their own wristbands from the wristband table.
If you have Group 1 for an author, please proceed directly to that line upon entering the room. Group numbers will be called for the other authors you have wristbands for over the PA system.
If your number is called but you are currently in another line, there is a grace window to be allowed into the line (ie. three to four group numbers higher than your own). However, if you are attempting to enter the line and it is outside of this grace window, you will need to grab another wristband number from the volunteer managing the line and wait for the new number to be called.
Groups consist of 10 people, to ensure lines remain manageable and don’t interfere with other author tables. During the times between your wristband numbers being called, you can enjoy walking around and visit other authors and narrators!
If you ever have any questions throughout the day about the lines, or what numbers certain authors are at, please find a volunteer wearing a black shirt with “STAFF” written on the back and they will be happy to assist you.
The signing session lasts 3 hours and includes time to visit the authors and narrators. Please ensure you manage your time properly in order to see the authors/narrators you want to see first and foremost. We are confident that you should be able to see everyone you are wanting to, but this is not a guarantee.
The list of ticketed authors for 2027 will be announced closer to the date.
Venue Information
Banff Park Lodge
The Ballroom has been rented for the May 29, 2027 signing. This is located on the second floor in the Banff Park Lodge. Please note that all authors are connected in one large room. You will not need to travel to different rooms to view different authors.
Venue Accessibility
There is an elevator that accesses the second floor to get you to the ballroom.
Washrooms
Washrooms are located immediately inside and outside of the ballroom.
Re-entry
If you need to exit the signing room for any reason, you will be allowed re-entry.
Water Stations
There will be multiple water stations set up in the book signing room. These water stations will be replenished throughout the day.
Wi-fi
There is no public Wi-fi. If you do not have a data plan, please ensure you have your ticket downloaded prior to attending the event. As well, please download any documents you may need ie. seating chart, your pre-order confirmations etc. prior to showing up to the venue.
